Although the Nissan Note was released globally last summer, auto press has been buzzing since the Versa Note variant was unveiled at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show this past January. With a new look, new powertrain, and new features, the 2014 Versa Note promises to be a strong replacement for the old Versa hatchback. See what this new Nissan hatchback has to offer.
The new Nissan Versa Note keeps things simple with one engine. A 1.6L inline-4 generates 109 horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque. The engine can be mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or Xtronic CVT. The vehicle is expected to achieve an EPA-estimated 40 mpg on the highway thanks to aerodynamic tweaks such as Active Grill Shutters.
Thanks to a cavernous interior volume of 115.5 cubic feet and 60/40 split rear seats, the 2014 Versa Note boasts best-in-class cargo capacity. Additionally, all models come standard with safety features such as roof-mounted curtain airbags, driver and passenger side-impact airbags, and antilock rear drum brakes to keep you safe and in control at all times.
Plenty of cars in the compact segment offer plenty of technology, but the 2014 Nissan Versa Note is the only car in its class to offer Nissan’s Around-View Monitor system, a feature typically reserved for premium segments. Additional technology options in the 2014 Versa Note includes NissanConnect with traffic and weather navigation, a backup camera, hands-free texting, Pandora radio, and Google Points of Interest, all accessible from a beautiful 5.8-inch screen.
